Should I fly into O'Hare or Midway for a Chicago business trip?

For a downtown or West Loop meeting, Midway (MDW) is usually the quicker ride and a Southwest hub. For the northern suburbs and the O'Hare corridor, O'Hare (ORD) is the practical choice — it sits among those campuses and carries the most connections. So: Midway for downtown, O'Hare for the suburbs and for connecting itineraries. For far-north Lake County (Abbott, AbbVie), Milwaukee's airport is also competitive.

Which airport — O'Hare or Midway?

Two airports, and the right one depends on the district. O'Hare (ORD) on the northwest side is the big international hub — and the practical choice for the northern suburbs and the O'Hare corridor, which it sits among. Midway (MDW) on the southwest side is smaller, a Southwest stronghold, and usually the quicker ride to downtown and the West Loop. The rule: Midway for a downtown trip, O'Hare for the suburbs (and for connections). For far-north Lake County, Milwaukee's airport (MKE) is worth a look too.
