Where to Stay for Business in New York
New York's headquarters split across Midtown, Hudson Yards, downtown, and the Westchester suburbs — and the airport you pick is half the trip.
New York looks like one market and behaves like four. The headquarters are split across Midtown, the new far-west towers at Hudson Yards, the downtown bank core, and campus offices 30 miles north in Westchester — and three (really four) airports serve them, each closer to a different district. Book "New York" by reflex and you can land at the wrong airport for a downtown meeting, or in Manhattan for a Westchester campus. Match the hotel to the district, and the airport to the hotel.

Which airport — LGA, JFK, EWR, or HPN?
Four airports, and the right one depends on the district. LaGuardia (LGA) in Queens is the closest to Midtown — about 25 minutes — and the domestic default. Newark (EWR) is often the best fares and the closest to Lower Manhattan and the West Side, ~25–35 minutes. JFK in southeast Queens carries the international routes, ~45–60 minutes to Midtown. And for a Westchester visit, Westchester County Airport (HPN) sits minutes from the Purchase and Armonk campuses — the insider pick that beats all three city airports. The rule: LGA for Midtown, EWR for downtown and the west side, JFK for international, HPN for Westchester.

A few New York HQs are in the middle of 2025 restructurings and are held pending — the media companies (Paramount, Warner Bros. Discovery) and Interpublic (being combined with Omnicom). New Jersey headquarters (Prudential and others in Newark/Jersey City) will get their own metro rather than be folded in here.
