Where to Stay for Business in New Jersey
New Jersey's headquarters spread across the whole state — and the reflex mistake is booking Manhattan and reverse-commuting to a campus that Newark's airport sits right next to.
New Jersey is the densest corporate state in the country by some measures, and its headquarters are scattered from the Newark waterfront to the Parsippany office parks to the Camden riverfront. The reflex mistake is to treat it as a suburb of New York — book a Manhattan hotel and reverse-commute under the Hudson each morning. Almost always, the better move is to stay near the campus in New Jersey, where the room is cheaper, the commute is shorter, and Newark's airport is usually minutes away.

Which airport — Newark, or Philadelphia?
For most of New Jersey, the answer is easy: Newark Liberty (EWR) sits in the middle of the state's corporate belt — minutes from Newark and Jersey City, ~25–30 from the central and Bergen campuses, ~30 from Parsippany. It also spares you the New York airports and the river crossings. The exception is South Jersey — Camden and Burlington belong to Philadelphia (PHL), about 20 minutes across the Delaware. And Princeton sits midway between EWR and PHL, so pick by your connection. The rule: EWR for most of the state, PHL for the south.
