Work with the Index Desk

By Rachel Julian, Editor-in-Chief · · 3 min read

Four people arrive here needing four different things. A correction is free and always will be; an assessment is applied for; a decision is bought; and software can do all of it without a human.

Direct answer: There are four ways to work with The Sales Traveler, and they are deliberately not the same thing. Correcting a score costs nothing and never will — the Index Desk scores what a company publishes, so a missed or misread commitment is a defect in the record and is fixed free. Verified is an application, not a purchase: $2,500 buys a human assessment against a published standard, applications are declined, and payment moves no score. Buyers choosing between suppliers can commission a Second Opinion for $250. Software can obtain the full evidence record free and machine-readable, paying only for a dated attestation. A partnership buys reach, never a rating.

Nothing here is paused. Four different people arrive on this page and they need four different things, so this is the routing, in order of what most people actually need.

Your score looks wrong, or incomplete

This costs nothing, and it always will. The Index Desk scores what a company publishes. If we missed something you publish, or read it wrongly, that is a defect in our record. Send us the URL and we will re-read it.

A correction is never a purchase. No payment on this page moves any score by a single point.

The full protocol, including how corrections are dated and logged in public, is at scoring governance. Use the form below, or write to rachel@thesalestraveler.com.

You want to be assessed for Verified

Verified is earned by review, not bought. The $2,500 is an application fee: a human reads your published commitments against the standard, and applications are declined. Paying it buys the assessment and nothing else — not the outcome, not a score, not coverage.

Read the Verified standard before you apply, then apply here.

You are choosing between suppliers

You are on the buying side, not the selling side. The Second Opinion is $250. You get the full evidence record on your shortlist immediately and free. Then, within three business days, a signed and dated judgment from a named editor: what the published record supports, where it runs out, and the question worth asking before you sign.

You are software acting for a buyer

The record is free, complete and machine-readable at /api/evidence-record, under the standing licence at /press/ — no key, no signup. Only the dated attestation is paid, and it is payable without a human at the Evidence Record.

Something else

Press, speaking, research collaboration, or a question none of the above answers — this reaches Rachel directly.

Whatever you pay for here, and whether you pay at all, the score is the score. A partnership buys reach, never a rating — and a correction is free precisely so that sentence stays true.

The Sales Traveler is independent and reader-funded — a partnership buys reach, never a rating. Corrections are free by design, because a right of reply that costs money is not a right of reply. No data submitted here is stored; it is emailed to the editor.
