Stay on International Drive
Almost every major Orlando convention runs at the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) — one of the largest in the country — on International Drive (“I-Drive”). The single decision that shapes your week is how close to the OCCC you sleep, because the I-Drive corridor is long and the Florida heat makes “walkable” conditional.
Where to stay for the OCCC
- Hyatt Regency Orlando — connected to the OCCC by skybridge; the no-compromise choice if you are in and out of sessions.
- Rosen Centre and Rosen Plaza — directly across from / adjacent to the OCCC, an easy walk.
- Rosen Shingle Creek and the wider I-Drive cluster — more space and value a short shuttle or rideshare out; fine if your days are not back-to-back at the hall.
Getting there and getting around
Orlando International (MCO) is about 15 miles from I-Drive, and there is no train to the convention corridor — SunRail does not serve it. Plan on a rideshare (~20–30 minutes), a rental if you are venturing beyond I-Drive, or a hotel shuttle. Along I-Drive itself, the I-Ride Trolley runs the corridor cheaply and connects the hotels to the OCCC; otherwise it is rideshare or a warm walk.
