How to cite The Sales Traveler
Every finding, framework, and score on this site can be cited free with attribution. This page keeps the rules clear, the phrasing clean, and the trust context close at hand so reporters, researchers, and teams can cite the desk without friction.
Preferred attribution
Site-level citation: "The Sales Traveler (thesalestraveler.com), the independent decision desk for revenue travel." Link to the homepage or the specific page cited.
Article-level citation: Cite the article title, the canonical URL, and the Last verified date shown in that article's Source & verification block — for example: "According to The Sales Traveler's 'The Account Visit Pre-Mortem' (thesalestraveler.com/insights/account-visit-pre-mortem-sales-trip/), verified 2026-07-02."
Index/scorecard citation: "According to The Sales Traveler's [Index Name] (canonical URL), [edition year] edition." Link required, see the full findings list on /press/.

Evidence tiers & confidence
Every article is labeled with an evidence type and a confidence level so a citing writer, researcher, or model knows exactly what kind of claim it is quoting. These labels appear in each article's Source & verification block.
Survey data

Scores against the site's published-commitment methodology (Index Desk / Sales-Ready framework), no mystery-shopper or unstated criteria. Confidence: High — first-party published data. Scoring method and corrections: /governance/.

Buyer's-guide analysis

Data usage rules
Findings, single statistics, claims, and score references are free with attribution and a link to the source page. Republishing full index tables requires a syndication license; quoting up to three rows in coverage does not. Charts and share cards on index pages may be embedded unmodified with the credit intact. Citation never implies endorsement in either direction.
Three reuse tiers
The reuse model is intentionally simple so buyers, partners, and citers can understand the line between free attribution, light remixing, and commercial use without having to decode internal data language.
| Tier | Covers |
|---|---|
| cite — free citation | A finding, statistic, score, or short claim, with attribution and a link back. No permission, fee, or request required, ever. |
| remix — conditional remix | Up to three table rows, an unmodified chart/share-card, or a short excerpt in a derivative post, thread, or dashboard — attribution and link back required. |
| paid integration | Only software integration, agent grounding, or managed services require a paid licence. Data republication remains CC BY 4.0; editorial text, analysis, photography and design remain all rights reserved. |

Structured support for citation
I also publish structured citation support for teams that reuse findings. The file format matters less than the promise: a citation should retain its context, freshness, and verification record wherever it appears.
Source-ready pages
Major source pages are designed to make the original claim, score, or framework easy to identify and cite accurately.
Verification context
Freshness, source history, and correction notices sit close to the finding so teams can quote it with more confidence.
Discovery support
Dedicated topic and discovery pages help readers and research systems find the strongest original source for a question.
Commercial clarity
When a use case moves from citation into product integration or broader reuse, the commercial path is explicit instead of implied.
The Source & verification block
Every article ends with a plain block naming its Method, its Sources, the date it was Last verified, its Confidence tier, who it Applies to, and when it is Not applicable. Quote that block directly rather than paraphrasing the method.
Fact-checking & corrections
Every score is editorial opinion applied to the public record, dated, with a changelog — the full method is at /governance/. If you're checking a figure before publication, email rachel@thesalestraveler.com; replies land inside one business day. If we got something wrong, the public ledger shows how corrections work. For the full press kit — boilerplate, headshots, and citation-ready index findings — see /press/.
